# AK-47

**Strain Info:** Sativa-Dominant Hybrid | THC: 13% - 20%

## About This Strain

**Lineage:** Colombian x Mexican x Thai x Afghani

### Overview

Don't let the aggressive name intimidate you—AK-47 is famous for
doing the exact opposite of what its moniker suggests. A
legendary, slightly sativa-dominant hybrid (65% sativa / 35%
indica), this strain is a masterful cross of classic landrace
genetics: Colombian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghani. The result is a
beautifully complex bud that delivers a peaceful, mellow
experience.

### Effects

The AK-47 high is characterized by its fast-acting, “one-two”
cerebral effects. Almost immediately upon exhale, users are
lifted into a steady, long-lasting euphoria. This buzzy,
uplifting head high boosts the spirits and keeps you mentally
alert, making it an incredibly social strain that allows
conversation to flow easily.
As your mind soars into a state of creative happiness, your body
will settle into a gentle, soothing relaxation that stops well
short of couch-lock.

### Medical Benefits

Boasting an average THC level of 13–20% and up to 1% CBD, AK-47
is a highly sought-after strain for therapeutic use. Its ability
to simultaneously elevate the mind and ease the body makes it a
popular choice for patients looking to relieve:
- Chronic stress and anxiety
- Depression and low mood
- Chronic pain and muscle tension
- Tension headaches and migraines

### Aroma & Flavour

The sensory experience of AK-47 is just as nuanced as its
effects. Its pungent aroma fills the room with earthy, herbal
overtones accented by sour notes and flowery spice.
The flavor profile beautifully mirrors this scent; while the
smoke initially presents as sour and earthy, it gives way to
sweet, floral notes on the palate, finishing with a lightly
spicy exhale that intensifies as you smoke.

### Appearance

Visually, AK-47 is a stunner. The plant produces oversized,
spade-shaped nugs in a vibrant minty-green. These dense buds are
heavily threaded with thick orange hairs and generously frosted
with a sticky coating of amber crystal trichomes.
