# Malawi Gold

**Strain Info:** 100% Pure Sativa (Landrace) | THC: 9% - 13%

## About This Strain

**Lineage:** 100% Pure Sativa (African Landrace)

### Overview

Malawi Gold is a legendary landrace strain that has grown
naturally in southeastern Africa for generations. Revered as one
of the surviving ancestors of modern cannabis, this mythic bud
is highly prized by breeders and consumers alike for its pure
genetics, rich history, and consistent morphology.

### Appearance

True to its sativa roots, the plant grows remarkably tall,
producing pyramid-shaped, neon-green buds. While it features a
notoriously low calyx-to-leaf ratio—making for a super leafy
nug—the buds are dense with sweet, sticky resin, bright red
hairs, and frosty amber trichomes.

### Aroma & Flavour

The sensory experience of Malawi Gold is truly unique and
directly tied to how it is traditionally processed:
-
**Aromas:** It boasts a classic sativa nose of
sweet and spicy fresh herbs paired with floral earthiness.
Most notably, because the buds are traditionally cured by
being wrapped in layers of banana leaves, they carry an
enticing, mild banana fragrance.
-
**Flavours:** On the palate, users are treated to
an inviting taste reminiscent of spiced herbal tea, followed
by just a touch of sweet earth upon the exhale.

### Effects & Potency

While its historical status carries heavy weight, its high is
perfectly approachable. Testing at a moderate 9–13% THC, Malawi
Gold delivers a fast-acting, crashing wave of cerebral energy
that is uplifting rather than overpowering.
Users can expect a clear-headed, laser-focused high filled with
motivation and purpose, completely free of the anxiety or
paranoia often associated with potent pure sativas. Because of
its gentle yet invigorating effects, it is a fantastic daytime
choice for users of all experience levels.

### Medical Benefits

Thanks to its clear-headed and stimulating cerebral effects,
Malawi Gold is a highly sought-after choice for medical cannabis
patients needing daytime relief. It is frequently used to help
manage:
- Chronic daytime fatigue
- Chronic stress and tension
- Mild cases of depression
- Nausea or lack of appetite
